Absolutely tremendous - I only used a couple of them ( "icon remove" for ALL tabs, code tweaked it a bit) directly into my userChrome - but what an awesome help!! Thank you!!
This seems an excellent "one shot stop" instead of individually listing all elements USBman - I've put a link to this style on my version so folks have an alternative. I like specificity, and now the "+table" reference written originally by np is now working again, according to Webb (see notes on my original style for this). My version works great for me, but I do have to add the name to both C.G.'s filter AND my style (just did a couple the other day!)
However this one also preserves page layout, but you don't have to add a filtered name to BOTH Customize Google and the style - very nifty indeed. I'll test this out later as it would make creating a NEW filter as easy as adding to the my regex in Customize Google alone, not both. Very nice!
While I appreciate your attempt to make an "all in one" script/style, I'd like you to honor the request I have CLEARLY posted on FiltersetP, and REMOVE FiltersetP from this throw-together style. You can read the reasons why on the FiltersetP page, which I wish you'd read before you did this. If you've got your own blockers to add, make a separate style people can add on - compilations tend to cause false positives no one can track down (so they blame individual authors) and aren't fair to the individual contributors who have actually WORKED to develop them. They're also wayyyy too bulky and site specific.
If any of the above is actually your work, please post YOUR style to help others - that's great! People can add any contributions you make in your own style. However, I see MANY potential false positives here, it is way to lengthy and site specific because you've "borrowed" from so many, has a whole separate section for "false positives" and although you mean well, throwing a bunch of stuff togehter like this is just not a good idea. let alone an original one.
It would also be more efficient to have 3-4 dedicated styles from the original authors.
Absolutely brilliant. . . 1)If I saw one more "spaceball" I was going to scream. 2) I remove "footers" anyway, and it's great you did it here (some footers are needed by some folks - I dump 'em all!) and . . . 3) Padding job is great too and ties in w/my other "images" black background stuff very nicely. This is just TERRIFIC! Thank you, Nalco.
Much more than just cute pics of attachments folks - a great way to sort mail or look for mail you no longer need. Despite 3GB mailbox you still want to sort out junk; this is an excellent way! By configuring the attachment icons, you're left with the "paper clip" showing anything "suspicious." I chose less icon/file type choices, made new smaller icon sizes and compacted the code slightly, but I certainly wouldn't "nit-pick" and award ANY LESS than FIVE stars for this great style. Folks have to learn they CAN customize their own, if they're brave/bright enough to actually write a style. BRILLIANT IMPROVEMENT, Moktoipas, and thanks for your help in the past with questions I HAD as I learned. Cheers
Outstanding. The multiple colors are VERY useful - thanks ChoGGi. I used the "width 12px" from np's DOM indent fixer, added "font-weight:bold!important" to the selected row, and made the highlight "yellow." This is fantastic; much easier to read and navigate!
Thank you very much for doing this ChoGGI - I saw this as a greasemonkey script, and used to use GM expressly for GMail "tweaks," but they slowed page loading to a crawl and were buggy. This is a TERRIFIC improvement, especially for folks with a long list of labels who perhaps would show more contacts in "Quick Contacts" if there were room without a huge page scrolling. This fixes that and allows for proper balloon placement and screen resolution per the individual. Excellent job - cheers.
Works flawlessly and icons are centered perfectly when using "small icons." Addendum: Now I've had a couple of hours to play around with it, I notice that thanks to your good "styling," replacing the Base64's with my own smaller footprint images is also a breeze and do not require any "padding/sizing" changes! WooHoo! Definitely a keeper and room saver (I don't show Edit, Help or History anyway), so the "remaining 3 iconified" really saves room. . . . Thank you XerBlade!
In light of your brilliant work long ago on a "Post your userstyles thread," where I got my start from you and Raila, I knew it would be YOU who fixed this Greg! Thanks so much. I actually requested this 2 weeks ago on the Stylish forum, no takers. My original stuff for tabs was all from your post last year, long before Stylish - and now you've fixed it for 2.0!! Woo Hoo!! I've got some of my own that work, but the elements ".tab-image-left, .tab-image-middle, .tab-image-right, .tabs-alltabs-box" were what made the difference, and I couldn't "get" those. Cheers. And no, it's nowhere else to be found here.
Now, if only the "hover" color could be different I'd be pretty much back to your "old" css that worked so well until 2.0. Thanks very, very much indeed. Because of you, at least we;'re now "getting close" to tab color control once again. CHEERS!!
Brilliant. This should be a default GUI option anyway! I'll play with the images for personal taste, and have less menu items showing - but this is FANTASTIC and quite a space saver. GREAT job. Thank you. Right now I'm trying to figure out why my images hit "high" instead of centered - I'm using 16x16 pngs converted to B64 (??).
Thanks so much Roland de Ruiter - I JUST posted on the userstyles forum because as of today my script wasn't working any longer - yours is great and solved the problem. For those of you still using what I had, which was : /* SIDEBAR RIGHT SIDE */ window > hbox { direction:rtl; } window > hbox > * { direction:ltr; } it no longer works as of Sept 3rd Branch of 2.0b2 (and possibly any Branch after 8/26th) - this solves the problem nicely. Excellent work - thank you.
Nice One! It's only one of the "smaller" problems on that Branch thread nowadays, but the yellow was a pain to read. I changed your "#9900ff" to "blue" for personal taste - but the idea is GREAT. Thank you indeed. I don't imagine you have anything for "span[style*="complete idiot"] {display: none !important"??!! Hee hee. Cheers /p
THAT's what I was looking for! Tried other one as well, but this one's perfect for me. I would NEVER have thought of the "[statustext^="javascript:"]" thing.
Masterful and simple. I already hide icons and then "add" my own, so 2nd part of np's code worked like a dream to make the "buttons." Now all I need to figure out is how to change button background color! "Inserting "background: yellow" or "background-color: yellow" didn't work). Thanks np - much more intuitive :look," and I may just apply to "bookmarklets" as your other script does. Great work.
Well that's just the absolute COOLEST. Man that's simple & great -- especially for me, who colorizes blank walls. EXCELLENT!! I'd give it "6 stars" if I could.
Yeah! I'll use this one and look at your other two more closely. Thank you. Took me a while to figure out 2nd part & what it did . . . . it's GREAT! Cheers /p
Excellent - I slammed it on to see the rounded boxes and they're great, but unfortunately I have so many other default theme tweaks it's overriding some of them. Any chance you could put up a separate script that ONLY applies the rounded URL and search box bse64s, regardless of how folks have their height/margin/padding(s) set? I played around with it, and got the rounded corners, but kept losing "border" lines. I already have the security "colors" based on another script on userstyles.
I found this: http://collingrady.com/2004/12/04/rounded-address-bar-in-firefox/ But again, it seems to address far more than what I need. I'm hoping you can give us a "fast fix" for URL and search without additional language & effects. Great work, and thank you!
One of the cool things about new scripts such as this: it gives me another "site to check out." I like Reddit! Excellent script; I actually didn't use all the elements (I block footers anyway) - but it sure cleans it up nicely with the remaining "removed elements." Thanks for the script and the site!
Very nice Indeed!! I replaced HeaderWrapper stuff w/ "#HeaderWrapper { display: none !important; }" and widened .PostText to 900px - perfect for my screen. GREAT job and makes it worth reading the thing. Thank you.
Works very well even though I have other "tab mods." Makes 30 tabs readable! Great job. Addendum 6/30: Rats. Appears broken in 2.0a3 June 30th Branch, apparently they've added "end arrows" to the tab bar. Nuts. Well, I'll re-add as soon as you can "fix" to adapt to new tab bar (?) - thanks. Super work.
Terrific work! Worked on this myself for a while, and couldn't "do it." Glad you did! I added 2 elements, which at least in California appear on the left and are a flash ad - this might not affect folks elsewhere. Elements I added, right after .photocredit, are "[src*="space.gif"], [src*=".swf"] followed by your { display: none !important }" This way your table fills up entire page, with nothing but listings (unless that left column is something other than an ad for the user). GREAT Work.
Just great. Switched to this from your other one I was using, made sizes "80" and "68" for my 1280 x1024 rez, and once again incorporated your "highlight" coloring script - it's much more manageable now, lined up, smaller, easier to navigate. Thank you!
Boy oh boy, you're good at this. Really good. I added just one thing & dumped the logo, "[src*="logo"] { display: none !important; }" - and kept everything else. Great work (as usual) arteekay. Cheers / p
Absolutely brilliant, one of the best on here, and something I worked on but couldn't do myself. Terrific - thank you very much. I use a single toolbar. Not only is this a keeper, it's a necessity IMO.
I use the stop/reload combo script, and have now incorporated this as well. It works great! I used to remove the throbber altogether; however combined with stop/reload (& small icons) and this script, it's a terrific functional space saver. Despite using toolbar height reducing, this does not make anything "swell" on my screen; it's just effectively created a "3 function single button!" Super job Lou, especially for those who don't want status bar!
It's TERRIFIC! I altered text just a tad (removed "div" from subsequent id's and placed on one line, just for "slimness") - but not necessary to make it a GREAT script. This is a site cleaner that's actually useable, and speeds up page loading and "looking for what's important." Great job!
So simple and SO necessary - just super. Had no idea it would improve so many sites (worth it just for Google!) - and a sensible, non eye-strain color too. Was going to just try it out, but it's a KEEPER! Thanks Frank!
Thanks to the-edmeister, found this PEARL today . . . after trying the above and then visiting marcanth's link to Roger Johansson's version, and not getting it to work, I changed it a little to show BEFORE the link, and be a red "square" from Windows Character map. Screenshot here: http://xs77.xs.to/pics/06165/MarkedIMGLinks.JPG Unfortunately that didn't work when moved to userContent. I "rewired it," a la Tim Allen, to include a png image and will post that tonight w/all due credit to above named individuals for their INITIAL basis/work. GREAT JOB, marcanth - thank you.
Excellent and easily tweakable to your own taste. Like reddeye, I went with 9pt (Verdana), added ".p, a { font-family: Verdana !important; font-size: 10pt !important; }" to Google to make the blue titles stand out a little, and widened the GMail margin to 160 - both Google and GMail now look MUCH better! Thank you very much indeed.
Great tweak! I made one small adjustment, which might help Lee Dailey - and that is I wiped out the whole first "treechildren." section & started with 2nd one (treechildren::-moz-tree-checkbox(checked)) - now, disabled = nothing, enabled - green dot. Even more intuitive and cleaner. Great script Peng, thanks.
YESSSSS . . . . . !! Without a doubt the MOST useful of any "site cleaner-upper" to me, only one I couldn't "RIP replace" due to (as you said) sparse class IDs. RIP did it easily, but even with WebDeveloper I couldn't see what to yank out - you did it very cleverly. Super - thank you!
I never viewed the status bar due to "space" issues - it just took up too much & wasn't worth it. Now I have that functionality - thanks Sonej! I actually went one more (-4px) and it's taking up a little more than 1/8" on 1280x1024 screen - very nice indeed. Thank you.
Outstanding & simple - that "bold font alert" drove me nuts! Better yet, you can still check if anything accidentally went there, because it doesn't hide it entirely. Superb.
I combined the two in one script. Added to your tab color change options script(s), I've got a narrower, even height (I used height: 26px, margin-top: 0px margin-bottom: 0px) toolbar w/no jumping and organized select/unselect/hover colors. Basically a 500 byte theme! Just GREAT, DB. Thank you.
I don't use "Classic Style Menus extension or the css hack." I just installed this. And it's fantastic - my "stuff" in one column, tighter, no longer annoying . . . great work.
It's not only "good" for default theme - it's essential in that it alleviates giving up a "meg" to have a theme that might not adapt to FX increased versions! Combined with the "Selected tabs" script it's convinced me once and for all to "leave 3rd party themes alone" Great, great job.
Backed out a couple I didn't need and it's replaced about 2/3 of my total RIPs for those sites! Not to mention your script did a better job without the occasional "snafus" I had using RIP for Google Search (depending on what you searched for). After weeks of trying different RIPs for Yahoo, this script does wonders for THAT too, except for the log-in page which I can live with. Even covers myspace, which will make my girlfriend happy!! This is a must have, does things AdBlock won't/can't - and easily amendable should site changes occur. Just fantastic and reason all by itself to get the Stylish extension.
Changing the appearance of your browser with a Stylish is terrific and fun . . . replacing an extension with Stylish and THIS script is even better! It was the first script I installed. Thank you so much for this; even screenshots of extension list are smaller now because the icons don't appear next to them. Outstanding!
