When you move your mouse cursor onto a bookmark, Firefox will display a tooltip showing the name and location of the bookmark. I found this behaviour distracting and unaesthetic. Especially with bookmarklets. I actually found how to hide them at http://forum.addonsmirror.net/index.php?showtopic=96&st=20 All kudos to LouCypher (aka Zoolcar9)
