Google is evil. Ask.com has better privacy-policy. But it's search-results tend to be somewhat confusing. This is my attempt to make it a bit better: - Number-Count in front of Search-Results - Removal of "More" and "My Stuff" Menus (only used by registered users) - Complete left Sidebar removed - Space of Left Sidebar given to main search-results - Sponsored Links/Results removed (see http://userstyles.org/styles/4074)
A highly modded look for MetaGer 2. I had written a solid description for this style. Then userstyles.org had to revert to a backup and my submission was gone. Now I'm too angry to write the whole thing anew. Just install the style & see what it does by yourself. It has comments that explain the code.
This is a very detailed rebuild of the look&feel of Google for the results-page of Scroogle SSL-encrypted search. It tries to mime the look of the google searchresults-page so that people using Scroogle do not have to readept to another search-engine. Also check out my favicon-userstyle (http://userstyles.org/styles/9574) which will replace the rather ugly Scroogle-Favicon in your browser with the classy old Google-Favicon. And finally, to get the ultimate Google-feel for Scroogle, install my modded Scroogle-searchengine plugin for Mozilla/Firefox/Seamonkey at http://www.css-petals.net/templates/scroogle-installer/index.html. It offers ssl-encrypted search, the Google-favicon also in the search-bar and a reduction to 20 results via Scroogle. Remember that this style is only intended for the Scroogle-results page and could possibly screw up other layout-parts of the ssl-website of Scroogle! This is a mod for your browser so that whenever you're using scroogle, the rather ugly scroogle-favicon is replaced with the classy old Google favicon. This holds true for the adress-bar, tabs etc.! The only point in using this is so that people switching over to Scroogle do not have to adept to a new look&feel of the search-engine. Update at 20080818: The new version now works well together with the Tree Style Tab Extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en/firefox/addon/5890) which gives you a parent -> child tab-structure and a vertical tab-bar. This update fixes the still appearing original Scroogle-Favicon in Tree Style Tab and moves the Open/Close-button for parent-tabs with the classic Google Favicon to the right place.
