Engadget Lite - Remove Ads, Sidebar, Footer, more

Removes the ads, sidebar, and footer from http://www.engadget.com/, as well as removing most of the header except for the search box and Engadget logo. In addition, The initial pictures seen in most posts, which with most Stylish stylesheets have whitespace around them, now allow text to wrap around them , with less wasted whitespace. Update: Fixed picture wrapping, works in a couple more cases, should work with flash videos now too, also removed some ads I missed. If there are bullets in a post they may overlap onto the image... not sure how to fix this. [Edit: Removed some clutter on article pages.]

Joystiq Lite - Removes Ads, Sidebars, Footer, more

Removes the ads, sidebars, and footer from http://www.joystiq.com/, as well as removing most of the header except for the search box and a now-transparent JoyStiq logo. In addition, The initial pictures or flash videos seen in most posts, which with most Stylish stylesheets have whitespace around them, now allow text to wrap around them , with less wasted whitespace. Known problem: Bullets can cut into images. Not sure how to fix it. Sorry about any poor screenshot quality, the filesize limitations on screenshots are bafflingly low. [Edit: A newspost on Joystiq today had a non-floating image. I have tweaked the stylesheet to fix that.] [Edit: Another quick fix.] [Edit: Fixes due to changes in the site design, also made some changes to search results pages and article pages to remove more clutter and make more room for comments.]

Personas: Fix side toolbars and find bar

So you decided to try out Personas from Mozilla Labs and you think (rightly) that it's quite awesome (Google it if you don't know what the hell I'm talking about. But then you're using an extension with a side-toolbar (like All-in-One Sidebar) and you notice it isn't skinned all the way down! Personas skins only cover as much as their image height, after that you get the default theme color for the toolbars, which often doesn't match. Personas might be patched to give themes "default" colors that extend past the end of the theme image, but for now I whipped up a fix in Stylish to do it! There are two fixes.. two CSS lines. The enabled one will tile the header image across the whole window (except the statusbar, and except the find bar if the peraona already skins that). This will look ok for most cases, but it is possible depending on theme it won't tile well, especially if the side toolbar is on the right. So you can try the other fix, but for that you have to figure

Remove Keenspot Ads

Removes the top Keenspot bar and the Keenspot Newsbox from Keenspot comics. Sorta has an odd selector syntax, but it should be specific enough to not hide stuff it shouldn't. If you find it does, you can limit it to the *.keenspot.com domain, but keep in mind Keenspot hosts some comics with their own domain name. Tested on http://www.ozyandmillie.org/ and http://www.newshounds.com/ , two of my favorite webcomics. :) Keenspot bar remover is similar to this, and actually probably does a slightly better job, but misses the newsbox.

Statusbar: Mouseover for clutter

Not sure if someone already did this or something similar, but I just came up with it and it was a simple script to whip up. Basically it hides all the statusbar items except those that are in plain vanilla Firefox... until you mouseover, then the statusbar returns to its normal clutter so you can use all the items there. Think of it as a variant on Windows' taskbar's "Customize notifications" idea, where you can hide system tray icons. Made for Firefox 3, I expect it should work for older versions of Firefox. If newer versions put new items in the statusbar, those will be hidden until this script is updated. Menus from icons act a bit funky but they are still functional. [Edit: Fixed it being applied to ALL statusbars (IE: ArchView).] [Edit: To add new items to the exclusion list so they are shown always, open up DOM Inspector (if you have Firefox 3 you'll have to install it from addons.mozilla.org) or, hell, Firebug can probably do it too... and inspect the main fi
