FF4 - FF7 - Bookmark icon only hover selector

A small code snippet to display bookmarks as 'icon only' on the bookmark toolbar. Icons "light up" when hovered. Please check out http://userstyles.org/styles/48331/ff4-bookmark-quicktip?r=1306299620. Your bookmark information will display immediately upon hover! Purpose: The Firefox style I currently use consists of only two rows. One row is for session tabs and the other contains the navbar buttons, the bookmark toolbar, the urlbar (which doubles as the search bar), and the Win7 window controls. The overall theme is for transparency (which is not a requirement), function and smaller size. This snippet of code allows for a large number of bookmarks and a small amount of space usage, without losing any bookmark information. The code is simple and should be easily customizable with very little modification. Compare the first and second Stylish bookmark icons in the image to show the difference between the hovered and dimmed icons. Cheers!

FF4 - FF7 - Bookmark Quicktip

Displays bookmark name (not url) upon bookmark hover. Designed for larger numbers of bookmarks and darker background themes. With style applied, Firefox system tooltips are disabled for bookmarks only. Ideally created for use with icon only bookmark style. http://userstyles.org/styles/47286/ff4-bookmark-icon-only-hover-selector Screenshot shows FF4 system tooltip and the same hover with a Quicktip. NOTE: Unless the code is modified, some text cropping may occur. Simple text alignment preference modification instructions are available in the More Info section (below) and commented in the code. Inspired by some userstyles discussions, influenced by makando's affirmation and from another idea that came to life thanks to the work of foxxyn8. http://forum.userstyles.org/discussion/26811/request-quick-tab-tooltip-display http://forum.userstyles.org/discussion/26822/tabs%3A-combine-styles-single-tab-favicon-close-on-hover

Keyword addition for Add/Change Bookmark (Fx3)

Include Keyword, Location URL, and Description when adding (Ctrl+D), or modifying a bookmark with the Firefox 3 Star. The description will fill in automatically from webpages that include the description META tag, and you can change it to what you want. By including the keyword in your bookmark Name it will show up in a location bar autocomplete search (AwesomeBar) and a bookmark search. I place the keyword at the beginning of most of my Name/Title line and most of my public keyworded bookmarks are in the "K" folder of my Bookmarks Toolbar to help me remember the keyword assigned. Keyword in Not included in and by itself in a Location Bar autocomplete search and History and Bookmark searches so you should include your keyword at least somewhere in the Name(/Title). There are some codes that will help with such searches. * Bookmarks, ^ History, + Tags, # Title, @ URL, ~ Typed, % Tabs (future 3.7). I think this is a substitute for the "OpenBook" extension that Fire

App: BookmarkBox - Bookmark Box (Stacks)

Ok... I had what I like to call "MultiBar Linkitis". I was adding another toolbar to the chrome, plus I was using the Custombuttons ext (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2707), so that I could have links that I regularly visited or considerably help, one click away. I've been taking my meds and now I'm over that. So now my links are two.. thats right two clicks away. I know, I know... you're saying, "but that so simple, just create a folder on the Bookmarks Bar", and I agree it is simple. But, if you have a crap load of links... that list can become extremely long. Here's where "ButtonBox" comes into play. Its basically takes that long list of links and converts them in to a tight woven box of favicons, hand made in the hills of Nepal, by part-time Yak Wranglers... and Aliens... and Bigfoot, I mean the Yeti. Sorry got sidetracked. Kinda similar to Stacks for Leopard. *** IMPORTANT *** All you have to do is create a folder on the Bookmarks Bar and name it "ButtonBox".

Bookmark Folder Icons

This is a working example of how you can add an icon to a bookmark folder... This also works with folders placed on the bookmark toolbar as well as in the menu.... Below are just two examples i made and using...I'm sure someone can come up with a big image of icons and rectangle them off into smaller bits...Ok something to take notes on. Where it says Label=Yahoo well that is the specific name of the folder that the icon will be used on... Take note of when i say specific the name of the folder and the label=Yahoo cannot be different. they have to be the exact same case... If they are different the icon will not show... Also if you have a bookmark that has no default icon with it, and if it contains the exact name as a folder with an icon it will use the same icon.

Show full bookmark titles in bookmark bar

Display full bookmark titles in the bookmark bar, instead of truncating long titles with ellipses ("…"). Note that for _really_ long titles, the hover effect on Mac will look cut off for some reason.
